A VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows you to securely connect to a specific network, such as McGill's, from anywhere. This can be useful for accessing certain services like remote desktops, uPrint machines, and some restricted McGill webpages when you're connected to Wi-Fi off campus.
Note that the McGill VPN specifically connects you to the McGill network and unfortunately not foreign countries for streaming purposes.
You'll need to install the Cisco AnyConnect app onto your computer and configure the McGill VPN using your McGill login credentials.
Once that's set up, it'll be easy to reconnect on that device whenever you need it. This service is FREE for all McGill students, faculty, and staff!! Instructions for setting up the VPN can be found here.
